Kankdhara stotra path

The Kanakadhara Stotra is a hymn composed by the great philosopher and sage Adi Shankaracharya. It is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu deity of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. The hymn is said to have been composed when Adi Shankaracharya, during his travels, visited the house of a poor Brahmin woman. Moved by her generosity despite her own poverty, he composed this hymn to invoke the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, who then showered her with golden amlas (Indian gooseberries), thus bestowing her with wealth and prosperity.
