Yagnopavit or Janeu Sanskar is a Hindu ritual where a sacred thread (called Yajnopavita or Janeu) is ceremonially worn by a young boy, symbolizing his readiness for formal education, spiritual growth, and commitment to upholding certain ethical and moral values.
The Yajnopavita is worn over the left shoulder and under the right arm, symbolizing the responsibility the wearer carries throughout life.
