Shuddhikaran Pooja

Shuddhikaran Puja, also known as the purification ceremony, is a Hindu ritual performed to cleanse and purify individuals, homes, temples, or any other spaces. This puja aims to remove negative energies, impurities, and doshas (defects) to restore balance and harmony. The term "Shuddhikaran" comes from "Shuddhi," meaning purification, and "Karan," meaning process or act.

  3. Invocation: Begin with the invocation of Lord Ganesha to remove any obstacles and ensure the smooth conduct of the ritual.
  4. Purification with Water: Sprinkle sacred water (Gangajal) around the space and on individuals to purify and cleanse them. In some traditions, a kalash (sacred pot) filled with water and adorned with mango leaves and a coconut is used.
  5. Homa (Fire Ritual): Conduct a homa (fire ritual) to purify the space further. Offer ghee, grains, herbs, and other items into the sacred fire while chanting specific mantras.
  6. Offering and Prayers: Offer flowers, incense, and other items to the deities. Recite prayers and mantras dedicated to various deities to seek their blessings.
  7. Aarti: Perform the aarti, waving a lit lamp in front of the deities and the sacred fire, while singing devotional songs.
  8. Prasad Distribution: Conclude the ritual by distributing prasad (blessed food) among all participants.
