Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja for Peace and P

-Akanksha Singh

Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja is a Hindu ritual aimed at mitigating the inauspicious effects of Panchak, a period considered unlucky due to the moon's alignment with specific constellations. This complex puja involves symbolic representations, Kalash installation, and rituals like Rudrabhishek to neutralize negative influences, offering peace, protection, and prosperity to the deceased's family.

Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja for Peace and Prosperity

In Hindu tradition, the era known as Panchak, which translates to "a group of five Nakshatras or constellations," is seen as unlucky. The moon travels through the Nakshatras of Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, and Revati during a period of five days. It is thought that any disaster could befall five times during Panchak. It is said that auspicious events like marriages, griha pravesh, mundan, or significant purchases are not recommended during this time. A death that occurs during Panchak is called a "Panchak Death," and it is anticipated that five family members will die in the next 24 months.

Panchak Dosha and its Classifications:

The Garuda Purana states that Panchak Dosha may cause the departed's family further suffering and issues. Based on the day of death, the dosha is divided into five categories: Mrityu Panchak, Rog Panchak, Rajya Panchak, Agni Panchak, and Chor Panchak. Every kind is linked to particular difficulties and barriers for the family members.

Significance of Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja:

The Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja is conducted in order to lessen the negative consequences of Panchak Dosha. Fifteen days after Panchak's death, this complex rite takes place. Five Kalash, which stand for the five Panchak Nakshatras of Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, and Revati, are prepared for the puja. In addition, Kusha grass and white cotton dolls, representing the five Nakshatras, are used in Pitru Tarpan Pooja. After performing Prana Prathistapana on these dolls, they are buried in the ground or close to a natural source of water.

Rituals of Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja:

The Panchak Dosha Nivaran Puja includes several essential rituals to alleviate the malefic effects:

Kalash Sthapana: The ritual involves establishing the five Kalash representing the Panchak Nakshatras.

Panchang Sthapana: This includes invoking Gauri Ganesh, Punyavachan, Shodash Matrika, Navgraha, and Sarvotabhadra to create an auspicious environment.

64 Yogini Pujan: Honoring the 64 yoginis, spiritual entities associated with divine feminine energy.

Shetrapal Pujan: Paying respects to the guardian deity of the land.

Swasti Vachan: Invoking auspiciousness and seeking blessings for the ritual.

Sankalpa: Making a solemn resolution to perform the puja with devotion and sincerity.

Ganesh Pujan and Abhishek: Worshiping Lord Ganesha and performing an abhishek (ritualistic bathing) to seek his blessings.

Navgraha Pujan and Mantra Japa: Invoking and appeasing the nine planetary deities with 108 chants of each planetary mantra.

Rudrabhishek: Performing a ritualistic bath of a Parad Shivling with the chanting of Rudram Namakam Chamakam and Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 11,000 times.

Prana Pratistha of 5 Dolls: Giving life to the dolls made of Kusha grass and cotton.
